For over 25 years the Houston Police Department has shown their support for Special Olympics Texas through their participation in the Law Enforcement Torch Run. LETR officers raise money to help fund athletic programs for over 58,000 Special Olympics Texas athletes who participate in local, state, national, and international competitions. Of every dollar raised, 92¢ goes directly to programs for Special Olympics Texas athletes. Get your crew together and help us beat last year's total of $10,000!

The Five-O 5K honors all men and women in uniform who dedicate their lives to making Houston safe.  This run celebrates and appreciates all the dedication and support shown by Law Enforcement Torch Run officers in order to keep the "Flame of Hope" burning for Special Olympics for the past 50 years.  As we run 3.1 miles, we honor all of the LETR members, including those who are no longer with us, such as our beloved Sergeant Paul S. Weido and Officer Marco Zarate.
